Job Summary

At LIFE-NWPA, our Dietary Aide is responsible for ensuring the PACE Center is adequately stocked for meal service and that participant meals are prepared and served according to company policies and procedures, as well as established State and Federal food safety practices.

Schedule

Standard operating hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Monday-Friday. Please note work hours may fluctuate depending on business and Participant needs, flexibility is required.

Hourly Wage

$14.00 /hr. to start - $15.00 after 90 days

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Receive food daily, record food temperatures.
  • Set up and dismantle Café food service area for meals, including breakfast, lunch, and special events
  • Maintain sanitation of all foodservice areas
  • Serve breakfast and lunch per the Participant’s menu choice, following participant diet cards, and correct portions
  • Collect and maintain written record of all temperatures for freezers, refrigerators, and salad bar
  • Check in all food and supply orders received, and rotate stock to ensure freshness of supplies. Maintain proper labeling and dates. Discard outdated food items.
  • Complete monthly inventory of Center’s required supplies for meal preparation and service.
  • Maintain all Participant menus
  • Collect and dispose of refuse
  • Wash and properly store all meal utensils and meal preparation equipment used during preparation of a meal
  • Maintain updated participant diet cards
  • Complete grocery orders with participants
  • Enter meal encounters
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Able to read and apply instructions provided by a Registered Dietitian in the English language
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education And Experience

  • ServeSafe certification required (may be obtained post-hire)
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working with individuals with unique dietary restrictions required.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.

Patient Care Providers Only: Incumbent must be trained to provide assessment, treatment, or care for patients of all ages with additional education focused on treatment and care of adult and geriatric patients.
