We are seeking an experienced Nurse Director to lead our dynamic team managing geriatric psychiatric inpatient services at a prominent healthcare facility in Louisville, KY. This role reports to the Chief Nursing Officer, overseeing all aspects of nursing care, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee nursing practice to ensure exceptional patient care and family support.
Manage recruitment, performance, and development of nursing staff.
Develop and implement quality and utilization standards to optimize patient care and service delivery.
Collaborate closely with hospital leadership to align program goals with organizational strategies.
Serve as a resource in geropsychiatric care within the facility, fostering effective communication and decision-making across teams.
Promote a professional environment that reflects the unit's mission, vision, and values.
Essential Duties
Direct personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and disciplinary measures.
Establish and achieve hospital and departmental goals, integrating them with overall strategies and plans.
Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage productivity to meet patient care needs effectively.
Monitor patient outcomes and implement corrective actions as needed to enhance quality of care.
Support interdisciplinary collaboration and participate in nursing structures and committees.
Additional Responsibilities
Stay informed of nursing best practices and research to enhance patient care delivery.
Engage actively in nursing and program development initiatives.
Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
Participate in community health events and educational activities as needed.
Qualifications
Seven (7) years of RN experience required.
Five (5) years of leadership experience in inpatient psychiatric settings required.
BSN required; Master's in Nursing, Health Administration, or Business Administration preferred.
