North American Director of Maintenance

Summary:

As the Senior Director of Maintenance, you will strategically manage and oversee 12 facilities, with 10 direct reports focusing on asset care, TPM Maintenance, risk management, and reliability. Your role will involve developing and monitoring multi-year improvement plans for each site, ensuring the deployment of the Asset Care Strategy, and standardizing approaches across all plant locations.

What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Team Leadership: Coach and develop the Asset Care and Reliability teams, fostering a culture of total preventative maintenance (TPM) at each site.
  • System Oversight: Oversee network reliability maintenance systems, creating and deploying SOPs, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Performance Review: Review critical asset performance to mitigate risks and improve operational standards and efficiency.
  • Collaborative Meetings: Lead consolidated plant maintenance reviews, division collaboration meetings, and KPI performance evaluations.
  • Reliability Improvement: Manage multiple plant reliability improvement activities across the division.


What You’ll Need:


  • Educational Background: BS Degree required, ideally in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering. MBA, Masters, Lean/Six-sigma, or related certifications preferred.
  • Experience: 8 - 15 years in maintenance director level leadership, reliability management, and asset care management, with automation experience focused on process/packaging equipment.
  • Expertise: Functional excellence in packaging, processing, project management, and LSS/TPM, particularly in food processing, chemical mixing, and high-speed packaging environments.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to coach, teach, develop, and retain strong maintenance, reliability, and asset care teams.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to negotiate with vendors, contractors, and consultants.
  • Decision Making: Ability to make independent and sound decisions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, CAD, and SAP.
  • Personal Attributes: Motivated self-starter with strong people and communication skills, able to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
