Job Purpose

Edgio is looking for a Network Operations Analyst to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support in a 24/7 Operations Center. This position will monitor and support critical network and server elements using real-time alarm of network faults and notifications. The Network Operations Analyst resolves technical issues through diligent research, reproduction and troubleshooting while utilizing systems administration, networking, and software skills.

NOTE: This position will cover the third shift: 10pm – 6:30am PT (1am – 9:30am ET).

Responsibilities

  • Promptly respond to partner and vendor inquiries, primarily by phone, email, and online.
  • Leverage internal systems to document all interactions, problem resolution status, next steps, and time commitments.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve product issues and questions independently or partnering with senior team members.
  • Work flexible schedules, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • When notified of network and server trouble conditions, implement recovery procedures to isolate specific trouble sources.
  • Coordinates corrective actions to restore and repair conditions, internally and externally.
  • Initiates, updates, tracks, and closes trouble tickets; creates and sends network alerts as needed to internal organizations.
  • Actively researches server and/or networks for areas of potential problems or implementing quality improvements.
  • Works with other team members when necessary to correct or improve network performance.


Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting in shell/PHP/python.
  • Technical customer facing job experience.
  • Network Layer 1 troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with working with remote hands and data center technicians.
  • Experience monitoring networks and handling vendor and partner support tickets.
  • Linux/ Unix Sys-admin level troubleshooting and understanding of the principles of OSI layers 1-3.
  • Experience troubleshooting health of *nix systems.
  • Ability to parse system logs for basic understanding towards troubleshooting and where configuration files live.
  • Knows networking concepts (TCP/IP stack, DNS, HTTP protocols, etc.).
  • Experience with incident management
  • Self-starter, excellent communication both written and verbal skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
