Huckleberry Youth Programs (HYP) is a critical provider of essential safety net services for high-needs youth and their families in San Francisco and Marin County. For over 50 years, HYP has developed and maintained prevention programs that promote the health and leadership of youth, and, as a result divert youth from violence, crime and gang involvement, as well as other harmful behaviors, including running away, drug/alcohol abuse, risky sexual activities, and involvement in the juvenile justice systems. Program Summary

The Community Assessment and Resource Center (CARC) provides community-based intervention to help prevent youth from becoming even more involved with the criminal justice system. CARC is a San Francisco community based diversion program. Through CARC youth are provided day of arrest community based interventions, advocacy and support through the legal process within the San Francisco juvenile justice system, short term case management, referrals and warm hand off to long term community based services in San Francisco. Also implementation of long term plans and accountability through Restorative Justice practices to reduce and prevent recidivism. CARC’s current operating hours are from 9am to 10pm Monday through Friday.

Position Summary And Responsibilities

The Bilingual Night Assessor/Data Entry ensures that youth brought to CARC at the point of arrest & by scheduled appointments receive caring and professional assessment services, partners with parents/guardians & law enforcement agencies, as well as data & documentation. The Night Assessor/Data Entry position must be able to work within a collaborative process, handle stressful situations in a calm and respectful manner and negotiate successfully with multidisciplinary systems. This position is also responsible for answering calls, daily data entry of confidential information, file maintenance, and complete reports related to youth. Schedule is full-time 2:00PM TO 10:00PM (Monday-Friday)

Duties

  • Daily data entry of confidential information into the Salesforce database
  • Document strength based-youth centered communication & services provided to youth and their families.
  • Conduct arrest intervention & assessments of youth and identify short/long term goals.
  • Scheduling, tracking appointments and paperwork for youth cited to program.
  • Admin responsibilities include, phone calls, drafting letters, entering assessments, helping complete all logs, running reports and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with Huckleberry staff, law enforcement agencies, city departments and community based providers.
  • Develop, in conjunction with the CARC team, treatment goals and interventions
  • Compare and analyze stats received at CARC.
  • Create, close and maintain electronic & hard files within HYP standards that align with HIPAA compliance.
  • Attend meetings including but not limited to weekly Youth Review, agency meetings/events, trainings, superversion, monthly data meeting, & monthly site staff meeting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to perform all tasks in Spanish.

Work Environment

This position operates out of the Huckleberry Gough St. offices with some visits to community & system partner sites. This role is in person at Huckleberry Gough St. This role includes driving and the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The Huckleberry Gough site is located in San Francisco and is accessible by public transportation.

Required Education And Experience

  • One year of post-high school education or relevant experience (including volunteer experience)
  • Spanish language skills required - Bilingual stipend provided $1.75/hour
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Strong data entry experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • TB clearance
  • Valid CA driver’s license & clear DMV record

  • Must pass DOJ/FBI background check. Due to our requirements with licensing, candidates with backgrounds including items on this non-exemptible crimes list will not be eligible for exemption at this time.
