Role

SoFi is looking for an educational newsletter extraordinaire to oversee the strategic direction and operation of our evolving newsletter program. If you are someone who loves transforming vision into reality, designing an operating model from scratch, and experimenting with new storytelling mechanisms, this role just might be right for you.

You have experience advocating for readers while simultaneously articulating the business impact of your content to partners and stakeholders—you are able to balance serving your audience with driving the business forward. Ideally you have experience with personal finance- and investing- focused content and understand how to translate complex concepts and material into digestible and compelling narratives. You are confident partnering with technical and creative professionals, providing guidance on platform evolution as well as visual design. You’re willing and able to jump in and create content on occasion, channeling creative prowess and excellent writing skills.

You will join a brand-oriented content team whose mission is to make financial knowledge and empowerment more accessible by creating and distributing delightful financial literacy resources. This team has a diverse portfolio spanning the written word, audio, and video, all in service of helping members get their money right. In a world of misinformation, our goal is to deliver credible, clear, and compelling intelligence and insight.

What You’ll Do


  • Implement the launch of a new SoFi newsletter, overseeing the day-to-day operations and partnering closely with the editorial team on content strategy and creation.
  • Ensure a business case for the newsletter program is clearly articulated, evaluated regularly, and measured against – sharing out with stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
    • Partner with data science to ensure performance insights are collected, interpreted, and socialized with a commitment to learning, iterating, and innovating.
    • Develop and implement a plan for A/B testing in partnership with lifecycle marketing.
  • Manage newsletter operations and optimize work flows.
    • Collaborate with newsletter editor on editorial calendar, ensuring content creators are fully briefed.
    • Manage process for creating, reviewing, compliance, and archiving newsletter content.
  • Oversee amplification of the newsletter, amplifying it as a product.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and design teams to build necessary technical capabilities.
  • Partner with social teams to identify synergistic opportunities to amplify the newsletter’s material and tap into community conversations.
  • Submit briefs and work directly with the design team to generate custom creative work. Guide internal creative producer energy.
  • Partner with product marketing and business leadership to ensure SoFi products are appropriately featured in the newsletter, collaborating on thoughtful tie-ins where appropriate.
  • Manage vendor relationships and production tools as needed.

Who You Are


  • You have experience developing, managing, and providing strategic direction for a best-in-class personal finance and/or market newsletter, managing a content calendar, writing and assigning briefs, and designing/managing creative, operational, and strategic workflows.
  • You have experience managing a newsletter platform as a business – proving value through performance insights and reporting in a way that compels business and marketing leaders alike. You have experience articulating investment relative impact successfully and can effectively recommend strategic shifts in the program accordingly.
  • You have experience managing large-scale cross-functional projects, with multiple interdisciplinary indirect reports.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of related experience or Master's degree and 6+ years of related experience.


Compensation And Benefits

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
