The Resource is hiring a New Product Introduction Engineer for our client, an electrical equipment supplier, located in Lexington, NC. This permanent, direct-hire opportunity offers a salary range of $78,000-$86,000 per year (depending on experience). This position is responsible for supporting new product development and sustaining current products. Duties also include applying technical expertise to define, analyze, validate, and document the manufacturing operating environment, state of technology, and current Engineering processes. Ideal candidates for this role should have experience working in a manufacturing environment as a manufacturing engineer, process engineer, design engineer, or equivalent.
Participate and/or lead new product introduction/product transfer projects
Promote products improvements
Providing both technical and project leadership between Line of Business and GSC
Coordinate product changes & updates implementation in conjunction with General Engineering/Design Engineering
Provide Technical expertise support to other departments such as Industrialization, Quality, and Purchasing on products related issues
Coordinate and manage the execution of prototype builds and pilot runs for new product development projects
Conduct Product/BOM audits looking for safety and functionality compliance
Bridge the Line of Business and the Plant for Product/Process technical management
Leads or contributes to the execution of Change Notices based on agreed timeline
Analyzes change impact on the end-to-end manufacturing processes
Collaborates with Design/Continuous Engineering for all changes
Contribute to risk assessment (i.e. Severity in RPN) through PFMEAs, PQCS & CQCP
Owns all new offers arriving at the plant coming from the Offer Creation Process (PMP) and Industrial transfer
Revision of process documents such as Work instructions, Control Plan, etc
Make Industrial Feasibility Studies and ensure the deployment of modifications and coordinate them in accordance with Project Scheduling
Make designs or prototypes under R&D delegation, or in case of local/legacy products
Develop and implement product and process cost reductions and improvements
Act as liaison between Design Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure product quality and integrity meet company performance requirements
Act as manufacturing engineering support to troubleshoot all electro-mechanical issues that arise during the production process
Act as operations engineering lead to coordinate problem prevention and resolution, product improvement, cost reduction, and quality improvement efforts
Lead activity on equipment selection, capital justification (AR creation, justification, and submittal), and procurement for capital investments
Process Engineering Change Orders as needed to better document or implement product improvements
Review product bill of material and initiate any and all corrections and clarification required
Review product engineering drawings and initiate any and all corrections and clarification required
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering…BSME, BSEE, BSIE required
Must have at least two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment as a manufacturing engineer, process engineer, design engineer or equivalent
Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing is a definite plus
Knowledge of ISO standards, audits and inspection techniques, and experience with ISO9001 certification is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft applications is required
Proficiency with MRP systems / JDE experience is a definite plus
Must possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Must possess strong teamwork and team-building skills
Experience with AutoCAD and Creo is a plus
