New Business Development and Knowledge Management Intern, Fall 2024

Banyan Global is an international development consulting firm committed to improving livelihoods through market approaches for a broad and lasting impact. The firm is headquartered in Washington, DC with staff working in a number of developing countries. Banyan Global operates seamlessly within five practice areas economic growth, gender, youth, health, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning.

The intern will provide support to Banyan Global’s New Business Development Unit (NBDU) from the Washington, DC office. In partnership with each practice area, NBDU is charged with growing the firm’s portfolio of development programming globally by identifying donor-funded opportunities and effectively submitting impactful winning proposals. Specific activities of the Intern include, but are not limited to

  • Providing coordination support for live proposal development processes, including copy editing, formatting, and meeting management.
  • Supporting NBDU processes to improve efficiency and standardization.
  • Supporting capture of upcoming procurement opportunities, including research, recruitment, and assessment planning.
  • Monitoring procurement websites and updating/maintaining NBDU tracking documentation.
  • Advancing knowledge management systems and processes using tools such as SharePoint, Salesforce, and candidate management platforms.
  • Other duties to be assigned.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and strong attention to detail.
  • Interest and relevant coursework/extracurricular experience in international development.
  • Strong writing and copyediting skills.
  • Fluency in a second language, such as Spanish or French, is preferred.


Anticipated start date September 3, 2024.

Schedule A flexible, hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 20 hours/week and 2 days a week in the D.C. office is preferred.
