Network Technician

We are seeking a skilled Network Technician to join our team. As a Network Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the uptime and efficiency of our network infrastructure and assisting customers with technical support. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving network issues, implementing network upgrades, and providing technical support to end-users. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance and implement necessary enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new network solutions.
• Provide technical support to end-users and assist with network-related inquiries.
• Ensure network security by implementing appropriate protocols and access controls.
  
  

Requirements

• Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Knowledge of network topologies including fiber optic networks. Fiber Optic Association training preferred.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting utilities.
• Hands-on experience with network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Associate degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is desirable.
• Network Certification (e.g., CCNA, JNCIA, Network+) is preferred.
• Knowledge of the OSI Model and troubleshooting through the OSI Model preferred.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy network equipment.
• Proven work experience as a Network Technician or similar role.
