Minimum of an Associate degree from an accredited college in any technology related field.
OR
Four years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the Associates degree; high school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Novell Network Administrator 6.x or higher.
Minimum of two years experience with Windows XP operating system.
Minimum of two years experience with Microsoft Office XP, 2003 packages.
Minimum of four years experience installing and maintaining personal computers.
Must be capable of lifting equipment up to 60 lbs.
Must have a current driver’s license and vehicle.
Administration and communication skills.

Performance Responsibilities
Monitors the network using utilities including, but not limited to: ManageWise; Cisco Works; Internet Manager; NetWare Monitor etc.
Responsible for monitoring the server backup jobs. Ensures successful completion of backup job and schedules makeup jobs when needed.
Responsible for monitoring processor utilization; cache buffers; packet receive buffers; logs long term hits to the server cache utilization to ensure servers have the adequate amount of memory.
Responsible for monitoring and recording usage of disk volumes.
Responsible monitoring, recording, and reporting security violations.
Monitors system for computer virus attacks.
Repairs infected files with viruses, and notifies users/Administrators.
Assists the Network Manager and Administrators with new hardware/software installations.
Prints and reviews console logs on a daily basis.
Maintain records for network hardware/software inventory.
Assists the Network Manager and Administrators to install the latest patches and fixes for all network hardware/software.
Assists the Help Desk with Network printer installations.
Responsible for performing preventative maintenance schedules.
Responsible for terminating Voice and Data cables.
Responsible for installing Patch Panels.
Responsible for Port Monitors and Digi Boxes.
Provides level 2 support for computer technicians and hardware specialists in the field.
Also any other related work assigned by the Network Administrator, Network Manager and/or Coordinator.
Terms Of Employment
Twelve (12) months; non-tenurable.
Evaluated by the Network Manager consistent with statute, code and collective negotiations agreement.
