DataPath is seeking a Network Operations NOC Service Desk Tech focused on support of Tactical Communications in a Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) mission. Duties will include assisting in troubleshooting, configuring and repairing network solutions both remotely via help desk support and on-site at customer premise locations to meet customer needs. Additionally, the Network Operations Technician will assist in identifying network faults and provide solutions to problems, provide network technical support to internal and external network systems, troubleshoot lower-level network problems, and validate on a daily basis operation of network services. The Network Operations (NETOPS) Service Desk Tech is expected to be a fast learner, highly motivated, and adaptable person as the majority of training related to the Service Desk will be on the job training (OJT). Strong interpersonal skills, documentation and reporting abilities are also a must. Access to customer premises is also a must so the Service Desk Tech must possess a Secret Security Clearance that allows him/her to obtain a military CAC card.

The Service Desk Tech provides Service Desk support to remote users in the field including management of trouble tickets, Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs), management of spare parts in both central and decentralized locations, and provides reporting. Other duties include:

  • Troubleshooting issue relating to Configuration Management of systems in the field
  • Configuration, troubleshoot & repair for vehicular-based and transit-case based SATCOM Communications systems (hardware)
  • Interacting with DISA or Commercial Teleport sites for operations and maintenance of voice, video, and data services and transmission systems.

Qualifications

  • Secret level security clearance and ability to obtain CAC card for customer facility access (for program related area access)
  • 3 years’ experience with deployable communications systems
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Willingness to take ownership of highly challenging tasks and problems
  • Ability to defend ideas/point of views to clients, team members and government leaders
  • Aptitude to thrive in a team atmosphere, while defining issues/hypotheses, performing complex analysis, and assisting with preparation and recommendations of solution alternatives
  • A passion for innovative ideas, coupled with the ability to understand and assimilate different points of view
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, meet deadlines and focus despite conflicting demands
  • Exhibits mature organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, interpersonal and including presentation skills.
  • Accomplishes tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and adapt very quickly.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem solver with strong computer skills
  • Familiarity with both desktop and Monitor and Control environments
  • Basic understanding of virtual infrastructure environments

Future Qualifications

  • Understanding of deployable architecture implementations (e.g., topologies, working knowledge, and hands on experience)
  • Experience servicing and repairing network hardware
  • Experience regarding implementation, operation, troubleshooting, management, support, and upgrade procedures for deployed equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting real time protocol (RTP) traffic such as voice and video
  • Proficient with Technical manuals and Training documentation to help end user troubleshoot problems
  • Strong background in Deployable Tactical Communications and Homeland Security Response
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues primarily over satellite communications (SATCOM) based data links
