Network Engineer

Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the Senior Network Engineer in implementing network strategy to support business needs in a secure and cost-effective manner, as well as ability to perform administration, support, and in-depth troubleshooting of related technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for daily troubleshooting of IT equipment and software including Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, VPN, BGP and EIGRP routing protocols, Cisco Wireless controllers and Access Points, Cisco ISE, Palo Alto firewalls, VPN (Global Protect), Panorama, and SolarWinds
• Responsible for maintaining MS Teams calling and MS Azure networking
• Responsible for supporting Data center networking, the integration for field/SCADA communications, and office/field network support
• Responsible for overall network security
• Responsible for network and circuit design, optimization & management
• Position will require 10-20% travel time within Texas
• All other duties and tasks as assigned by direct supervisor or manager

Qualifications & Skills

The qualifications and skills listed below are representative of those required to successfully completed the essential duties listed above.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field strongly desired.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a network engineering role, and at least 5 years of experiences in business enterprise systems.

Other Skills

• Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure.
• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices.
• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
• Ability to create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
• Ability to quickly learn technologies and products using documentation and internet resources.
• Experience with local area network and wide area network administration.
• Experience with the concept and implementation of SD-WAN

Computer Skills

Full knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Azure.

Certificates and Licenses

Preferred, but not required: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP, Azure Network Engineer Associate.
