Network Engineer

Overview

The position is responsible for availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, and security of the EIS networking environment, including but not limited to cloud-based and on-premise systems. Responsible for installing networks, troubleshooting issues, maintaining security, and training end-users on related systems. The Network Engineer is expected to focus on technology modernization, process standardization and documentation. The ideal candidate must be able to work well in a team environment as well independently. Provides support to Service Desk Analysts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing network systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain networking devices such as routers, firewalls, switches and SDWAN appliances, wireless controllers and access points.
  • Manage and maintain Voice over IP systems and technologies including call trees, hunt groups, moves/adds/changes, voicemail systems, DIDs, etc.
  • Interface with and manage the relationships with telecommunication vendors.
  • Responsible for the complete life cycle of both data and voice circuits from ordering through provisioning, installation, cut-over and disconnect.
  • Update and maintain system documentation
  • Provide support to internal end users, application development staff as well as Level 2 support to the Service Desk.

Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 3-5 years' experience as a network engineer.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to adapt instructions and guidance to the skill level of the end user
  • Strong familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP and other networking protocols in general, subnetting, routing, network connectivity, VoIP
  • Strong familiarity with telcom vendors, technologies, circuit delivery methods, on-premise telecom equipment, etc.
  • Strong familiarity with SDWAN and firewall concepts, management and troubleshooting, specifically Fortinet Fortigate appliances.
  • Familiarity with Aruba Wireless AP’s, ClearPass authentication, RingCentral Hosted VoIP a plus
  • Ability to identify, deploy, and manage complex networking systems and projects.
  • Available to travel up to 25%
  • Hybrid work schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in the Atlanta office; Monday & Friday work from home.
