Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, with the ability to manage and optimize our company’s network infrastructure. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our information systems that support core organizational functions.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and Deployment: Design, deploy, and manage LAN, WAN, and wireless networks to ensure robust and efficient connectivity across all company locations.
  • Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs) and software to support the organization’s needs.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uninterrupted network operations, minimizing downtime.
  • Security Implementation: Implement and manage security measures to protect network infrastructure from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and policies.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT staff to integrate and optimize network solutions for business applications.
  • Upgrades and Expansions: Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT team members, addressing any network-related issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the continuous improvement of network systems.

What You Need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role. Respond to client support requests and incidents in a timely manner. Document and escalate complex issues to associate MSP and/or senior engineers as needed.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in network hardware and software, including Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.).
  • Tools: Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark).
  • Security: Familiarity with network security practices and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage the stress of a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet the in-person requirements of the team and/or business needs.
