Title: Network Engineer III

Location: Charlotte NC

Duration: 6 Month (extension likely)

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Ciena equipment, and hold CCNA and CCNP certifications. This role requires strong time management skills, as well as the flexibility to work overnight shifts as needed to meet business demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute network projects using JIRA.
  • Perform troubleshooting and incident resolution in Remedy.
  • Upgrade firmware and implement new switches and routers.
  • Execute network augments and card additions.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Adhere to strict timelines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Provide on-site support five days a week, with overnight work based on business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Ciena network equipment.
  • CCNA and CCNP certifications are required.
  • Prior experience working with service providers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts based on business needs.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with network project management tools, specifically JIRA.
  • Familiarity with Remedy or similar incident management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete network upgrades and installations.

Work Environment

  • This role is based in Charlotte, NC and requires on-site presence five days a week.
  • The position may require overnight work to minimize downtime and disruption to business operations.
