Network Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. The Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of company networks, including planning, designing, and optimizing network systems. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of network protocols and security principles.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, etc.) that align with business goals and technical requirements.
• Configure and install networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other hardware devices.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues, such as network congestion, latency, connectivity problems, and security breaches.
• Collaborate with system administrators and software engineers to ensure smooth integration of networking systems with servers, applications, and services.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including firmware updates, software patches, and security configurations.
• Evaluate network performance and provide recommendations for improvement; implement network optimization initiatives.
• Maintain network security through the implementation of network access controls, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Create and maintain documentation related to network configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Respond to network emergencies promptly; participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineering and security.
  
  

Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field (relevant certifications and/or experience may be substituted).
• Proven experience (X years) as a Network Engineer or similar role in designing and managing enterprise-level networks.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP) and network security principles.
• Hands-on experience with network equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks) and network management tools.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).
• Knowledge of cloud networking principles and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments.
• Certification such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent is preferred.
