Title: Network Engineer

Location: Remote

Qualifications

  • Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure components like routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, OSPF, and BGP.
  • Hands-on experience with network security technologies including VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and ACLs.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools for performance optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of network virtualization technologies like VLANs, VXLANs, and SDN.
  • Ability to conduct network assessments, analyze requirements, and recommend solutions.
  • Several years of experience in network engineering roles, designing and implementing enterprise-level networks.
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting network issues and providing timely resolutions.
  • Experience with network capacity planning, traffic analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with network equipment configuration and management.
  • Familiarity with network security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex network challenges.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and documentation skills for maintaining accurate network documentation.
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively with vendors and third-party providers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience and certifications may be considered.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and technologies such as AWS or Azure networking.
  • Experience with network automation and scripting languages like Python.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies like 5G, IoT, and SD-WAN.
  • Understanding of business requirements and the ability to align network solutions with organizational goals.
  • Proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends and advancements in networking technologies.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA/JNCIP, or CISSP are beneficial.
