Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the Senior Network Administrator will:
Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, analyze, maintain, and support the LAN/WAN/VPN and related operating systems.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain network operating systems, Windows servers, routers, switches, and related peripheral equipment.
- Provide connection for LAN/WAN/VPN and related applications; maintain operating systems, client-server software, and utilities.
- Configure and install productivity tools, Windows servers, and various systems; write documentation and test new server software.
- Assist in planning and developing new projects and systems; research new technologies and recommend improvements.
- Provide technical support to staff and appropriate user support as assigned.
- Maintain schedules for system backups, server maintenance, system logs, and disaster recovery.
- Evaluate new software application packages to meet Agency needs.
- Train and guide end-users on various software packages.
- Install, set up, and maintain Unified Communication equipment, computer hardware, and software.
- Handle day-to-day issues, user questions, and problems.
- Maintain accurate and timely equipment inventory.
- Perform hardware upgrades and other hardware-related activities.
- Assist in the relocation and distribution of equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent work experience in network administration and support.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in network and system administration.
- Relevant IT certifications are an advantage (e.g., CompTIA Security +, MCSA, MCP, NIOP).
- Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN), virtualization, cloud computing, VOIP, Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), and Cybersecurity systems.
- Experience with Windows Server versions: 2021, 2019, 2016, 2012 Active Directory Infrastructures, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with Exchange Server versions: 2019, 2016, and 2013.
- Knowledge of Exchange Online Office 365, Cisco routing and switching protocols, and cloud-based wireless network management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows.
- Proven experience with network cabling.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
- Team-oriented with attention to detail and ability to produce error-free work.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel between multiple offices and lift up to 40 lbs.
