National Sales Manager

Passages of Distinction New York City Metropolitan Area

The National Sales Manager position for Passages of Distinction will be based on the East Coast, preferably in the New York City area. The plan is to continue to grow the Collection methodically with the best privately owned luxury hotels, resorts and wellness properties, as well as excellent DMCs. Our goal for our clients is to create increased awareness and develop business for all of our exceptional luxury products.  Destination/tourism background will be important, as well as, hotel experience.  


The candidate will take on a strategic role in the company to ensure growth, professionalism and excellent account management.  


We are looking for an energetic, passionate, positive, strategic, and organized Sales Executive with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the travel-related field with established contacts in the high-end luxury markets. 


The position encompasses, but is not limited to the following duties: 


Responsibilities


  • Assist CEO/Owner in managing Passages of Distinction Collection members 
  • Develop Annual Action Plans and travel budgets with our Director of Events  
  • Working with Collection members to determine Managing adherence to Action Plan including planning for Educational Trips, Sales Trips, Shows, local events and webinars


Sales Territories  

Taking ownership of all sales relationships with the travel industry including travel agencies and boutique tour operators for the entire Collection, in the following regions: 


  • New York area including Westchester, Connecticut and New Jersey (to be shared with CEO) 
  • New England states, Boston Metro area and New Hampshire 
  • South Florida 
  • Mountain Region including CO and UT (could go to new Western Region Mgr) 
  • Mid-West region, including TX  


National Accounts 

Taking ownership for designated key National Accounts for agencies with more than 100 ICs in territory as follows: 

Accounts included under National Accounts for this position will include: 

  • First In Service 
  • Fora 
  • Internova (including: Andrew Harper, Global, ITK and Altour) – to be shared with CEO 
  • JMPC (including: VWT and Frosch)  
  • SmartFlyer 
  • Signature  
  • Travel Expert 

 

Account Management Responsibilities as follows: 

  • Preferred Program Acceptance  
  • Commission Negotiations with key accounts 
  • Incentive programs created to increase market share  
  • Marketing to same to ensure best results  
  • Developing relationships with key advisors and contacts and entertaining of both 
  • Promotion of POD to encourage greater engagement and loyalty  

 

Training and Management of future Sales Associates 

New Sales team member training and management of their efforts may be requested 

 

Other required duties

  • Hosting webinars  
  • Development of PowerPoint presentations 
  • Brainstorming with team to develop fresh sales and marketing initiatives 
  • Staying aware of competition and industry trends and news 
  • Inputting calls and activities, on a weekly basis, into ACT for monthly reports 
  • Attending local tradeshows or travel-related events upon as per action plan or client  
  • request 
  • Assisting clients with special requests such as VIP servicing, reservations, etc. 
  • When necessary, assisting in coordination of roadshows, special events, sales trips for  
  • visiting POD Members  
  • Providing owner with monthly sales reports emphasizing effort in producing bookings  
  • and VIPs 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years' relevant experience
  • Experience working with ACT! or similar CRM
