National Sales Manager – Industrial Capital Markets
DETAILS
Location: Chicago, IL
Position Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Base Salary up to $140,000 - $150,000 (OTE up to $200,000)
Residency Requirements: MUST be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder to be considered, as no sponsorship is being offered at this time.
Overview:
The National Sales Manager for the Industrial Markets Group will develop and execute market strategies to achieve growth objectives. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, this role is preferably located within the assigned territory or the Chicago area.
Responsibilities:
Sales and Management:
- Direct and coordinate all sales activities within the Industrial Markets Group, ensuring alignment with corporate sales and marketing plans.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities through strategic business planning.
- Recognize new product and feature opportunities to enhance competitiveness and refine marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with Product Development and Marketing teams to create effective sales tools and collateral.
- Analyze sales data to develop effective strategies for the market segment/territory.
- Achieve maximum sales volume and market share within profitability targets.
- Coordinate with internal support sales groups to ensure cohesive operations.
- Negotiate and finalize customer contracts with support from management and legal resources.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Work across departments to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Coordinate resources to drive and close sales with new and existing accounts.
- Resolve customer and sales representative issues promptly.
Budgets and Reporting:
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in planning and forecasting.
- Set sales force, representative, and distributor quotas, providing guidance to meet targets.
Education, Training, and Trends:
- Develop training programs for continuous improvement of sales representatives and distributors.
- Stay informed about customer, market, and technology trends affecting business opportunities.
- Participate in industry associations to strengthen relationships and industry knowledge.
- Uphold and promote the organizational mission statement and values to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical discipline, or equivalent work experience; 10+ years of direct work experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial sales/marketing, focusing on capital equipment.
- Open to 50-70% Travel
- Experience managing independent sales representative organizations is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with technical aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
