National Purchasing Director - Print Industry

The National Purchasing Director is a critical role that focuses on managing vendor and supplier relationships to enhance our operations. This position is responsible for overseeing purchasing, budgeting, and materials management standards to ensure the highest efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire RFQ process, including contracts, cost, and rebate negotiations, and business awards.
• Negotiate and purchase a variety of equipment, vehicles, cellular and data services, phone lines, supplies, and maintenance contracts across multiple locations.
• Develop and implement national standards and procedures for materials planning, product acquisition, inventory control, and logistics management.
• Implement cost controls using commodity segmentation, vendor KPIs, and market-based cost justifications.
• Create and execute national buying strategies, monitor KPI indicators, and develop RFP analysis and negotiation strategies.
• Establish efficient order processing procedures and maintain strong vendor partnerships.
• Verify purchase requisitions, facilitate equipment installations, manage inventory levels, and resolve purchase order discrepancies.
• Lead and direct Purchasing Agents in multiple cities, focusing on innovation and efficiency improvements.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing leadership role.
• Strong work ethic, business acumen, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication abilities and a solid understanding of contract development.
• Proficient in financial analysis, forecasting, and project management.
• Ability to prioritize and react to critical business needs effectively.
• Strong foundation in vendor relationship management and experience with Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is required.
