The National Director, Emerging Markets will implement and execute comprehensive and effective strategies to sell, protect, and enhance revenue for all Biodesix products/tests within identified emerging markets across the United States This position will also be responsible for developing key customer relationships among physicians, nurses, and hospital administrators. The National Director, Emerging Markets will have the authority and responsibility to hire, train, develop and manage field-based sales employees. They will also be responsible for providing detailed sales forecasting and managing allocated expense budgets necessary to exceed the annual sales plan or quota. The National Director, Emerging Markets will conduct business on behalf of Biodesix with the highest of ethics, morals, and integrity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify, hire, train, develop, direct, motivate and retain talented sales professionals and lead them to meet or exceed our specific sales and market objectives
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key thought leaders and utilize these relationships to expand sales of Biodesix products, conduct professional education and provide input to new product development
Responsible for an overall sales quota attainment based on performance of direct sales resources or headcount
Developing, articulating, and selling clinical utility of Biodesix products
Develop key relationships with key practitioners/internists, nurses, and hospital administrators for identified emerging markets
Train physicians and staff on the proper use the Biodesix products and assist them with development, implementation, and maintenance of site-specific onboarding plan
Ensure Biodesix Sales Consultants are trained on the proper use of the Company’s products and able to assist physicians interpret and utilize test results
Provide market intelligence feedback to marketing and senior management on things such as pricing, reimbursement, competitive strategies and tactics, demonstration techniques, customer training needs, etc.
Support local meetings and conventions of key target societies or groups
Create unique protocols that are clinically sound (and potentially contractually binding) and (or) partnerships that accelerate the utilization of Biodesix products
Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, and Market Access to provide pull through with key clinical stakeholders
Proactively identify market trends which may impact Biodesix business and produce programs proactively and in collaboration with stakeholders
Identify, organize, and lead scalable prospecting activities to lead industry in specific lead generation activities (i.e. multi-customer webinars, conference presentations, email campaigns, etc.)
Influence strategic marketing activities within accounts
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience developing and driving commercialization of innovative technology
Experience with the sales process for pulmonology, IR, primary care products is a plus
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A passion for the customer, patient and product supported by strong relationships and closing skills
Strong work ethic, high energy/drive and personal integrity based on a strong value system
Mature, good business judgment skills, flexible, self-motivated, team oriented, charismatic, and strong leadership skills
The person will be expected to follow and support all Company policies and procedures
The person must ensure their activities and those of their team comply with all legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the product lines and markets in which the Company participates
Competency in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years sales experience in the clinical laboratory, healthcare services, diagnostic or biotech industry required
5 years of documented sales success required, sales management experience preferred
Undergraduate degree required
M.B.A or other related Master’s degrees is a plus
