In this position, you will be accountable for the achievement of Walmart, Sam’s Club and Central accounts specific goals by building strategic sales plans, developing customer relationships, and executing a trade marketing plan to drive sales and profitable growth through effective promotions, new item distribution and retail excellence. Key areas of Responsibility
Grow and develop all Pete & Gerry’s brands and businesses at Walmart
Work cross-functionally to ensure profitable product innovation to sell and execute at Walmart/Sam’s Club
Achieve assigned sales quota through the maintenance and expansion of distribution, merchandising and promotional activity for each assigned brands at Walmart Inc and Central accounts.
Build strategic partnerships with customers by integrating the Company’s strategic initiatives, building upon your key customer(s) strategic mission and values.
Forecast production needs and clearly communication for innovation, distribution and promotions.
Lead and Develop Annual Operating Plans to deliver Gross Sales, Net Sales, Share, TDPs and Margin Targets
Manage a complex network of brokers and distributors through meetings, scorecards and clear communication
Deliver effective sales presentations to key buyers and brokers by turning data into insights to drive distribution, promotional effectiveness and overall sales growth
Develop and deliver against key customer strategic plans and ensure key KPIs are achieved
Analyze data including IRI and luminate, and internal shipment data through BI
Provide accurate forecasts for volumes and revenue for assigned accounts
Attend trade association meetings and trade shows as needed
Collaborate with operations, finance and marketing to develop and align on clear communication and plans
Provide leadership and manage team members as business expands
Comply with all company policies, instructions, and directions for the fulfillment of company objectives and to maximize profits from sales.
Be alert to competitive products and merchandising practices; keep leadership informed.
Prepare weekly sales reports and expense reports as required.
Prepare and submit special reports, acceptance of products, or competitive conditions, as may be requested by management or as observed in the marketplace.
Understand and communicate the shift in the Shelled Category leveraging Pete and Gerry’s Category team to drive growth with customers
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 4-8 years regional or national sales management experience within the CPG industry, strong preference for perishable foods experience
Experience with Wal-Mart preferred
Experience managing a broker network
Working knowledge of trade promotions, business math and forecasting
Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills
Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills
Proven track record of analyzing, interpreting, and leveraging sales data (IRI, Neilson) to provide thought leadership presentations to the customer
Proficient in Microsoft office, especially PowerPoint and excel
Must be self-driven, results oriented, and able to drive sales while working independently
Travel up to 20% to include national meeting and key trade shows
