Burlington School District is seeking Spanish speaking individual to serve as a full time Multilingual Liaison (40 hours a week).This position supports New American students and their families as well as school personnel to assist students in achieving success in the U.S. education system by providing interpretation or translation, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be fluent and literate in Spanish as well as English in order to provide translation and interpreting services.
  • Must be familiar with the US education system as well as education in the native culture.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, parents, and the school community, using strong cross cultural and interpersonal skills. Professional, courteous behavior is expected.
  • Basic knowledge of computers preferred. Experience as a professional interpreter would be an asset, but is not required.
