First Brands Group is hiring a MRO Buyer to work in our DALTON brand located in Warsaw IN.

The MRO Buyer:

Supervise, coordinate and participate in the negotiation of contractual arrangements between Dalton Corporation and selected vendors to ensure high quality merchandise, expedient delivery and dependable service at optimum price. Also, review and interpret vendor contracts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Essential Functions

• Receive, examine and process purchase requisitions
• Solicit bids from vendors and negotiate payment terms, consignment agreement and vendor partnership agreements
• Supervise and assist storekeepers in issuing parts/supplies and the processing of paperwork
• Supervise and assist storekeepers with receiving including UPS and local deliveries and processing paperwork.
• Identify and eliminate obsolete stock
• Verify and resolve discrepancies of inventory and receiving.
• Arrange and organize the storeroom to improve housekeeping, accessibility and inventory control.
• Assist and develop departmental procedures.

Principal Duties/Tasks

• Maintain working relationship with customers on both internal and external matters relating to substitutions, equivalents, and delivery schedules and vendor problems.
• Keep informed of new products, market conditions and current prices
• Evaluate vendor performance and distribute annual “supplier performance review” forms to proper superintendent each year.
• Release Purchase Orders after analyzing quotes and terms.
• Process daily repair items
• Maintain operational security of storeroom inventory
• Match receivers to invoices and resolve discrepancies
• Issue and maintain storeroom items – purchase orders.
