Role Overview
Assistant Faculty play a vital role in collaborating with faculty members and students to cultivate a positive and enriching learning atmosphere. As part of our education support team, Assistant Faculty provide academic and administrative assistance, promoting student engagement and departmental success. Upholding professionalism in all interactions, Assistant Faculty contribute to empowering students for success in the medical workforce.
Responsibilities
Assist faculty in preparing materials and arranging equipment for lectures, labs, or discussions.
Facilitate classroom activities and discussions to enhance student engagement.
Offer personalized academic support through one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions.
Assist in grading assignments, quizzes, and exams, maintaining accurate records of student performance.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students, demonstrating respect and empathy for their diverse needs.
Collaborate with faculty to ensure consistency and effectiveness in teaching methods.
Manage course materials, including distribution, collection, and organization of assignments.
Maintain records of student attendance, participation, and performance.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, email communication, and organizing course materials.
Serve as a primary point of contact for student inquiries, directing them to appropriate support services as needed.
Participate actively in department meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited program with either an degree.
Current industry certification working towards credentialing with a specified deadline is acceptable.
Preferably 1-2 years of clinical experience.
Strong technical skills, including proficiency in computer applications, internet research, database management, and analytical abilities.
Experience with Canvas or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS) for instructional purposes is desirable.
Experience in online, hybrid, remote, or blended teaching environments is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Capability to independently move objects up to 25 lbs.
Dexterity in hands, arms, and fingers for operating office equipment and performing repetitive tasks.
Adequate hearing and speaking abilities for effective communication.
