CBR is looking for a dedicated Weekend Movies and TV News Writer to join the team.

CBR is the oldest and most respected comic book culture website in the world. We are the leading resource for coverage on comic books, film and TV, anime and nearly every other kind of fandom. It is the internet’s first and final stop for nerd culture, news, commentary and community.

As a Weekend News Writer for CBR, you will work with a dedicated editorial team to create original and informative articles that our discriminating audience demands, with the eye-catching aesthetic they crave. Are you a self-starting, hard-working and dynamic writer who can investigate, research and produce compelling news copy to tight deadlines and strict editorial standards? Are you a comic pop culture fan dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest movie and TV news and rumors? If so, apply to join the CBR News Team today!

Job Responsibilities

  • Write 5 news articles Saturday and Sunday (Friday-Sunday is preferred), under a wide range of word counts
  • Stay up to date on the latest news and trends in movies and TV, and anywhere else fandom may reach
  • Coordinate with Movies/TV News Editor for assignments and feedback

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in writing and editing
    • Some journalistic news writing experience is preferred
  • Must be available to write on the weekends
  • Broad working knowledge of old and current movies and TV series
  • Available at peak hours and strategic posting times strongly preferred
