Motion Designer

Scenic Road is a video production company in Kansas City with an opening for a full-time Graphic Designer / Motion artist.

Looking for a collaborator with a passion to make stories better and the ability to execute on a shared vision. You'll immediately become an integral part of our small team: developing creative concepts and approaches, working with direction to refine those, and executing on a deadline to consistently surpass client expectations.

This is a mid-level position. Candidates will need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus 3-5 years professional experience. This position will prioritize the graphic design and motion graphics side of things, but the ability to edit in Premiere would be awesome, and the proportions of those duties will fluctuate depending on workload.

Expected salary for this position is $40k/year.

What you will do in your primary function as Graphic Designer / Motion artist:

• Have intermediate to advanced knowledge in After Effects/Illustrator/InDesign; knowledge of Cinema4D or equivalent is a plus, but not required
• Bring excellent color, design, and typography instincts to every project
• Be proficient at designing/animating motion graphics elements consistent with established brand guidelines
• Explore current design trends/techniques and help identify ways to take projects to the next level
• Be self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Collaborate

Bonus abilities:

• Have intermediate or better knowledge of Premiere
• Evaluate and assemble raw footage into a polished rough cut from a script
• Select appropriate music and make decent story and audio design choices
• Be pretty good at basic color correction and grading
• Have a natural talent for organization and easily adapt to our workflow
• Communicate
