Mortgage Processor/Closer

WFFCU is currently seeking a full time Mortgage Processor/Closer located at our Operations Center in Worcester, MA. We are an EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled employer.

Summary Obtain and analyze information necessary to process mortgage applications including credit reports, appraisals, verification of employment, calculation of income, asset verification and any other pertinent information.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Daily pipeline management with a focus on processing mortgage packages, mortgage commitments, department turn-time and communication standards.
  • Knowledge of WFFCU mortgage products.
  • Process and send compliance documents to members as needed including all relevant documents.
  • Communicate with members throughout the loan process, keeping them informed of their loan status.
  • Document loan file with all written and verbal correspondence communicated to and from member.
  • Representative is responsible for accuracy of data in the loan file. Representatives are to consistently update and maintain loan status in all necessary reports. Document work performed on loan files in the loan files and also in all necessary status reports.
  • Process denied and withdrawn loan files in compliance with the established policy and procedure
  • Ability to adapt to any mortgage department changes.
  • Experience with various computer systems: especially: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Advise team leader of any member service issues.
  • Complete all required Bank Secrecy Act related training annually and maintain knowledge of current BSA policies, specifically those related to functions performed within the department and identifying and reporting possible suspicious activity.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written and oral instruction.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from members of management and credit union members.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Education/Training Experience

  • Knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Equal Credit Opportunities Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act,
  • Regulation Z, Truth In Lending, and other State and Federal laws that may be applicable
  • Detail oriented
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team effort
  • Mortgage processor/closing experience preferred
