About The Role

We are currently seeking a conscientious, process-oriented individual to play an integral part in Lafayette Federal Credit Union's Mortgage Department as a Mortgage Loan Processor. This is a wonderful opportunity to advance and learn about the credit union from business leaders. This position reports directly to the VP of Mortgage Operations. Summarily, the Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for gathering, evaluating, and verifying the validity of all information supplied on the mortgage loan application as well as assembling and submitting a completely documented file to underwriting for closing. The Mortgage Loan Processor will act as the primary liaison between the Loan Officer, Mortgage Brokers, branch offices, Realtors, builders and the borrowers.

A day in the life of a Mortgage Loan Processor will include:

  • Processing 1st and 2nd trust loan applications received from Loan Officers or Mortgage Brokers in a quality consistent with all company policies and procedures as well as meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining communication with borrowers throughout the entire loan process, assisting them with any questions, providing them with a status of their loans and notifying them of any additional items needed.
  • Updating Loan Officers, Mortgage Brokers, Realtors, builders and Title Company on loan status.
  • Reviewing and monitors your active loan pipeline on a daily and weekly basis and act accordingly.
  • Monitoring rate lock information for data integrity and expiration dates; communicates discrepancies to the originator.

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Mortgage Insurance guidelines.
  • Demonstrate analytical decision-making ability with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Multitask and prioritize work as required.
  • Provide all members with professional support, accurate information, and friendly service.

Pay: $47,279 - $57,500 annually (or $20.49 - 27.68/hr) depending on experience and qualifications.
