Molecular Biology Scientist

South San Francisco, CA

Full-Time

M-F, 1st Shift

Compensation: $45-60/hr depending on experience

Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Molecular Biology Scientist for a contract role at one of our Global clients in South San Francisco, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • from the bench in the design and manufacture of novel CAR constructs discovered using the company’s high-throughput platform Independently execute and troubleshoot molecular biology projects to support the laboratory team Introduce techniques and protocols to enable library assembly and implement quality control metrics to enhance reproducibility.
  • closely with team members to understand details of ongoing gene editing and cell engineering projects
  • excellent electronic lab notebook records of protocols and experimental details
  • with software engineers to develop the design and analysis methodologies and pipeline


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in molecular biology, cell biology, biotechnology, or related area with 5 years of experience, or MSc. with 3 years of experience
  • experience with molecular cloning techniques such as golden gate and Gibson assembly, plasmid DNA preparation, DNA/RNA extraction, cell transfection, viral QC REQUIRED
  • experience with next gen sequencing library preparation and execution including single cell sequencing, and oxford nanopore.
  • ability to troubleshoot experiments in real time.
  • in high-throughput protein engineering approaches is a plus
  • communication skills with proven experience in collaborating across disciplines
  • organizational skills, detail oriented and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines
  • to work in a fast-paced environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
