The Musco Technical Product Support Team is currently seeking a Lighting Technician to join their field team. A Lighting Technician’s role is to ensure safe operation of all mobile equipment while working on temporary lighting or field service projects, while meeting the customer requirements and standards for each lighted event. This position offers the opportunity for extensive travel to high-profile events including NCAA football, X-Games, NASCAR, and many other televised events. There is rich history of our mobile lighting solutions dating back to the inaugural night game at Notre Dame, with the ability to be a part of unique events like the Air + Style Show.
What You Will Do As a Mobile Lighting Technician
Drive and operate Mobile lighting equipment at temporary lighting projects, including, but not limited to crane trucks, generators, forklifts, man lifts, all terrain forklifts, and rental cars
Perform field service work, which will require working in aerial lifts, climbing poles, or driving/operating Musco equipment
Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspection of equipment and product
Coordinate time frames for projects with customers, vendors, equipment, and people resources for assigned projects
Maintain consistent communication with Field Logistics Manager regarding daily work duties and schedules
Provide detailed written field reports and completion of required paperwork within one week of project or assignment of paperwork
Provide leadership to crew and coordinate issues with vendors and customers on projects where Project Management responsibility has been assigned
Make solid daily expense related decisions
Other duties as assigned
Other Special Requirements
Job is typically based out of Iowa, but extensive travel (220-240 days per year) is required throughout the U.S. and, at times, abroad. Some working days in Oskaloosa will be required.
Weekend and holiday work are regular
Long and odd work hours are necessary at times
Projects to service lighting poles or structures that are between 40 and 120 feet tall using aerial lifts or by climbing with approved fall protect equipment, in rare cases servicing heights of over 120 feet may be required
What You Need To Be Successful.
Basic electrical and mechanical experience or aptitude is preferred
Excellent technical and problem-solving ability
Ability to troubleshoot communication issues over the phone as directed
Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills
Strong personal initiative and ability to work with little supervision
Basic computer, email, and internet skills for receiving work instructions and job reporting
Ability to learn internal communication system
Comply with DOT rules and regulations to maintain Commercial Drivers’ License (Musco will assist in obtaining the CDL Training/License)
