Carpenter Co has an immediate opening for a Millwright Machinist at our Riverside, CA manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the design and engineering, layout, fabrication of machine parts and equipment assuring the continuation of production and/or enhancing the efficiency of current or new equipment. Major challenges and complexities of this position include the analyzing, planning and working with complex drawings, equipment, and tools to develop and manufacture of specialized parts for plant machinery.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to have frequent communication with production management, maintenance management and other maintenance employees on a daily basis. This position works in a normal production/maintenance environment with exposure to temperature changes.

Your Additional Responsibilities As Millwright Machinist Include
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Must be a certified forklift, genie boom, and scissor lift operator.
- Must use and interpret complicated drawings and specifications to create various replacement parts for plant machinery using available mill working equipment.
- Utilizes all available equipment in the shop to manufacture the necessary parts to make sure that plant equipment is maintained and operational at an optimum efficiency.
- Expert fabrication skills and have the mechanical ability to relieve any member of the department when necessary.
- Ability to weld cut steel, braze, solder and minimum electrical and plumbing skills.
- Ability to recognize mechanical problems before a breakdown through an established preventative maintenance program and report conditions encountered that could affect the operation of the equipment at its optimum efficiency.
- Ability to fabricate parts and equipment and install the equipment and make it operational.
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 - 5 years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- 2-3 years specialty or technical training at a machine shop or technical trade school.
- 3-5 years combined experience required to perform the job.
- Good communication and advanced math skills.
- Must be forklift certified.
- Ability to operate a genie boom, and scissor lift.
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must possess a variety of personally owned industrial hand tools.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice.
