Connecticut certification as an Intermediate Administrator and Supervisor (#092) required.
Experience
Three (3) to five (5) years administrative experience is preferred.
General Description: To provide instructional leadership in the development, improvement and administration of the educational program of the school in accordance with Board of Education policies and administrative rules and regulations.
Duties And Responsibilities
Assists in maintaining a curriculum that provides for the abilities, talents and interests of all students
Assumes responsibility for the quality of the instructional program of the school, determining goals and objectives and areas of needed improvement
Provides for the continuing development of instructional techniques and assists staff in improving their methods and techniques
Works with staff to implement the characteristics of effective schools
Is committed to and knowledgeable about the interests and needs of students and teachers at the appropriate level of school organization
Provides for needed support services for children with identified needs
Provides for continuing student assessment
Ensures effective use of technology to support learning and management
Supervises and evaluates all staff members as required by various evaluation plans in the district
Establishes and maintains standards of performance for all staff positions
Provides guidance and support services to staff members leading to improved job performance
Participates in the recruitment, selection and assignment of building staff
Participates in the orientation of personnel new to the district and/or school
Conducts meetings of the faculty and other staff groups
Supervises and guides all phases of school operations in a timely, efficient and constructive manner
Provides for the safety, health and welfare of students, staff and visitors to the school
Compiles, recommends and interprets the school’s budget request
Maintain positive relationships with individual parents and parent groups to encourage and enhance parent involvement in the school
Attend public meetings of the Board of Education and other committee meetings as requested by the Superintendent
Upholds and promotes goals and objectives of the Board of Education and the school
Implements Board of Education policies, rules and regulations
Maintains confidentiality
Completes and submits required reports for the CT State Dept of Education
Performs other tasks and responsibilities as delegated by the Superintendent of Schools or designee
