HEAD HIGH SCHOOL FIELD HOCKEY COACH

The Kutztown Area School District, in collaboration with the Brandywine Heights Area School District, is accepting applications for a High School Head Field Hockey Coach to lead the newly established cooperative sponsorship. KASD and BHASD share a common vision for the growth of the program and the intent of maximizing the opportunity for participation for both Kutztown and Brandywine athletes. To foster competitive playing conditions, an agreement is in place for all home games to be played in Andre Reed Stadium at Kutztown University while also maximizing the opportunity for practices on artificial surfaces.

As a staff member of the Athletic Department, under the direction of the Athletic Director, the head coach will supervise all training, practices, and instructional sessions; performance and conduct of athletes; assist in the cultivation and maintenance of a positive team culture and provide a positive experience for the student-athletes conducive to interscholastic sports in an educational setting, and fulfill other duties associated with the team and athletes as designated by the Athletic Director. The head coach needs to have a clearly articulated vision of a combined program and a willingness to interact and support a feeder youth Field Hockey program.

Position Information

• Part-Time, no benefits
• Starting Salary - $2,300, commensurate with experience
  
  

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent necessary
• High School varsity level coaching in the direct sport preferred
• Evidence of effective leadership of a scholastic squad (Varsity, JV, Junior High) preferred
• Ability to articulate a vision for building/enhancing the scholastic program, including effective collaboration with community programs
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills required
