Middle School Dean - One Year Only

Description: Perform functions to implement the school’s attendance and discipline policies to ensure for a safe and orderly school environment. This position is for the 2024-2025 school year only.

Job Summary

  • Establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment. Act as role model on appropriate behaviors ensuring social and emotional development is progressing normally.
  • Implement attendance policies and keep accurate records. Notify Administrators and parents of excessive student absenteeism.
  • Monitor school and grounds for orderly behavior and ensure school discipline code enforced.
  • Work with parents, outside agencies, school resource officer and student services to handle issues or incidents affecting students or school events.
  • Manage in-school detention center.
  • Actively participate on problem solving and intervention teams to facilitate early involvement and resolution to behavioral problems.
  • Coordinate and/or assist in any alternative programming.
  • Coordinate and/or assist in bus/teacher supervision schedules.
  • Participate in staff development and school improvement activities in order to maintain professional growth. Plan and incorporate best practices or new strategies.
  • Coordinate and/or assist in the planning and scheduling of field trips and special school projects, including fund raising activities.
  • Supervise at various after hours and evening events.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

This position also requires 5 extended contract days ($1,912.50) and receives a middle school team coordinator stipend ($3,143).

Qualifications: The qualified candidate will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License. Candidates with a General Administrative or Principal endorsement and at least 5 years teaching experience are preferred.

Rate of Pay: Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
