ARETUM, a reputable government contracting company, is currently hiring for the position of Mid-Level Cybersecurity Analyst. As a Mid-Level Cybersecurity Analyst at ARETUM, you will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating potential cybersecurity risks for our government clients.

Responsibilities

  • Helping manage domain name system (DNS) ecosystems such as registries/registrants; the root, authoritative nameservers, recursive resolvers
  • Able to apply cybersecurity principles such as confidentiality, integrity, availability; authentication/authorization; non-repudiation), their application to the internet (e.g., web security, email authentication, firewalls, PKI, encryption) and common trust & safety issues on the internet (e.g., impersonation, fraud, abuse, resource exhaustion)
  • Ability to review .gov domain applications for eligibility and approvability against defined evaluation criteria. The review is a self-led investigation requiring the collection of information and an analysis of its trustworthiness. Example information includes{{:}}
  • User-attested data (e.g., the application)
  • Technical addressing data (e.g., domains/DNS, IP addresses)
  • Open-source intelligence (e.g., using Google, phone calls)
  • Government organizational information (e.g., Census Bureau data)
  • Authorizing statutes and other legalistic documents (e.g., laws, charters, bylaws)
  • Strong communication skills related to being a management analyst such as{{:}}
  • Drafting recommendations to approve/reject applications
  • Email responses to registrants needing help or support, being able to translate technical concepts to non-experts
  • Propose solutions to user needs
  • Apply or quickly develop a working understanding of the variety of US governmental forms and functions and able to adjudicate organizational authority and eligibility by searching through bylaws, Federal policy, state statutes, previous requests, and local sources.
  • Apply a strategic mindset in helping build a framework around solving programmatic issues
  • Determine methods or solutions for assessing large scale data sets including data manipulation, reporting, and visualization
  • Apply strong organizational skills in helping to develop and build out Power Point Decks, present information via tables and/or graphs and support executive management in sharing or presenting this information internally or to external organizations


Requirements

  • BS/BA most likely in an applicable area such as engineering, information systems, IT Management, Cybersecurity Management or a related field
  • 7-10 years' experience with preferably 2-3 years in management consulting/analysis
  • Strong coordination skills - able to support protocols between high level government managers and to support them in preparing for ongoing interaction with internal staff and other external agencies
  • Strong communication skills through both writing, building out documents and briefings, and acting as a facilitator
  • Strong comfort level with MS tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams - especially with tools like SharePoint and Teams has the ability to utilize these tools in a manner to facilitate executive management activities
