Job Description: High School English Language Arts Teacher
Position Overview: The High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher is responsible for educating students in the principles and practices of the English language, literature, and writing as well as fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and a deep appreciation for literature among high school students. This position requires creativity, dedication to student success, and adherence to state educational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with Arkansas State Standards for ELA, ensuring students meet academic benchmarks.
Instruction: Deliver instruction effectively to students, employing various teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Literature Exploration: Introduce students to a range of literary genres and texts, encouraging analysis, interpretation, and discussion.
Writing Skills: Foster strong writing skills through instruction in grammar, composition, and creative writing techniques.
Assessment: Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to guide learning and development.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, emphasizing respect and academic integrity.
Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic achievements.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
Valid Arkansas teaching license or eligibility for licensure in High School English Language Arts.
Demonstrated knowledge of Arkansas State Standards for ELA and effective instructional practices.
