About The Opportunity

Join world-class experts in finding answers to our customers toughest questions as our IT Operations Manager. This role is in charge of delivering and supporting all infrastructure, cybersecurity and IT service management as the organization experiences double-digit growth and global expansion. The position will be based in Orlando, Florida.

The IT Operations Manager will provide technology leadership in the planning, architecture, deployment, management, and operation of essential IT infrastructure including computing, storage, virtualization, networking, and security. The ideal candidate should bring experience working in infrastructure management including public/private cloud exposure, introducing new technologies and change in a dynamic environment, and managing IT service delivery in a 24/7 operating environment.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader will play an instrumental role in:

  • Leading and delivering infrastructure capabilities with focus on user-experience, resilience, performance, availability, security, and total cost of ownership
  • Directly managing the data center on premise and cloud-based infrastructure, which includes monitoring and backup
  • Responsible for management, coaching and development of a diverse and distributed team of IT Operations professionals who will build, maintain and support., IT infrastructure and networks
  • Partnering with Halma IT for implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls
  • Participating in the Halma community for IT leaders for sharing of best practices
  • Designing and implementing a service desk and service catalog with corresponding SLAs
  • Establishing polices and processes within the IT operations function to support efficiency
  • Providing a high level of proactive and mission critical support to security related incidents across the organization
  • Assessing and driving process and technology roadmaps for IT Infrastructure
  • Developing the technology strategy, goals, roadmaps in partnership with the IT leadership team and providing inputs to the annual budget
  • Overseeing activities relating to the engineering, design, development, implementation, testing and overall technical support to ensure the IT infrastructure services environment meets the business needs of the company
  • Automating repetitive tasks to drive efficiencies and document for future reference including scripts, programs, processes and standards
  • Serving as the technical escalation point for network and systems and issues both during business hours and after hours/on-call
  • Leading infrastructure related integration activities for mergers and acquisitions
  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring team members on complex problem resolution
  • Evaluating network performance, outages and develops proactive solutions to enhance service delivery and prevent future issues
  • Involved in the design and execution of the business continuity plan
  • Serving as a technical lead on projects and implementations while managing resources effectively
  • Overseeing vendors and contracts needed to support systems and deliver services
  • Responding to requests for information during assessments and audits

As a key member of the IT leadership team, the IT Operations Manager will be expected to provide clear and decisive recommendations, challenge assumptions, and advocate for the needs of his/her domain. While this position is a dedicated Ocean Optics role, it is also essential to foster our Halma culture in “living the purpose and embracing the adventure”.

About The Candidate

Our ideal should possess:

  • Experience with on-prem and cloud systems; server consolidation and cloud migration.
  • Ability to work in a rapid paced fluid environment with multiple business units and priorities
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening), ability to build relationships across teams
  • Heavily experienced in the entire Microsoft Office 365 platform
  • Familiar with cloud-based telecom solutions such as Ring Central and MS Teams Calling
  • Certified Azure Architect a plus
  • Adept in the architecture and support WAN/LANs environments including VPN
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Windows servers, including AD, vitalization and cloud backup solutions
  • Experience managing security technologies such as F-Secure virus/malware protection, Cato firewalls/VPN, One Login 2-factor authentication, BitLocker encryption, CrowdStrike endpoint protection
  • Ability to create and support MSSQL instances
  • Comfortable managing and coaching a diverse team across multiple locations
  • Customer service mindset, with the ability to drive excellence in delivery, fast problem resolution and process improvement
  • Excellent problem solver, skilled at managing incidents, identifying causation, corrective and preventive actions
  • Ability to translate IT knowledge to business stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with Agile methods and concepts
  • Understanding of ITIL and ITSM
  • Flexible to support 24/7 manufacturing operations, which may include being on call nights and weekends
  • Working knowledge of Cyber Security, Data Privacy attestation and policies
  • Operates with the utmost standard of ethics and integrity
  • Ability to travel up to 10% and internationally required
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business or a related field or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 7+ years of experience providing support to and maintaining IT Systems and Networks and related technology
  • 3+ years’ experience in leading and managing a diverse technology team
