EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NECESSARY: WWAY News, the ABC, CBS and CW affiliate in beautiful coastal North Carolina has an immediate opening for a Meteorologist for our morning and noon newscasts. These shows are both personality and content driven, and we`re looking for someone to help us continue the great on-air chemistry we have among our anchors.
Primary responsibilities include producing a forecast-driven weathercast, developing new ways to showcase our Baron Lynx weather system, and delivering the information on-air in a conversational and easy-to-understand style. You`ll also need the ability to stay on top of developing/severe weather without always having direct supervision. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in meteorology, plus at least one year of on-air experience are a must. THIS JOB IS NOT AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION. Baron Lynx, ENPS and Edius experience are a plus.
We have all the major weather food groups here in southeastern North Carolina: Hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, sunny summer afternoons and sometimes even a little snow or even an ice storm. So, here, forecasting is fun!
If you want to live, work, and play at the beach, this is the job for you! You must possess a valid and clean driver`s license.
