Metal Fabricator (Cutter)

Architectural Grille, a Division of Giumenta Corporation, located at 42 Second Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11215 is a family-owned and operated manufacturing company that has been in business since 1945.

We are seeking a full-time Metal Fabricator who can safely cut, shape, and manufacture grilles in a timely fashion.

• Check mist oil levels before operating saws.
• Remove shavings from machines before operating saws.
• Layout jobs as per blueprints, shop drawings, and job orders
• Maximize material usage by checking the availability of cut stock before using full-length materials.
• Check the accuracy of job specifications before task completion.
• Place scraps in the appropriate bins for disposal
• Maintain inventory of extruded stock
• Inform the Factory Manager when running low on individual stock materials.
• Inform the Factory Maintenance Manager when saw blades need to be sharpened or replaced.
• Return tools/equipment to the proper place upon task completion.
  
  
  

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must be able to read a tape measurer and interpret shop drawings.
• Time Management skills
• Problem sensitivity and creative thinking
• Must demonstrate proficiency in using and maintaining saws.
• Must be able to use a saw to cut brass, bronze, and stainless steel.
• Handling and moving heavy items (up to 50 lbs.)
• Neat and organized.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to adapt to change.
  
  
  

Working Conditions

• Manual dexterity to handle parts/items and saws.
• May have to carry heavy items.
