ExtraMile is seeking a Merchandising Coordinator. This position will facilitate and lead multiple projects and ongoing programs supporting the merchandising team. This role will primarily coordinate executional logistics amongst multiple merchandising team members as well as cross-functionally with other departments and vendor partners. This role will coordinate annual reset execution, on-going scopes of projects, as well as new programs as business needs dictate. The candidate must be an excellent communicator, well-organized, detail-oriented, strategic thinker comfortable working in a fast-paced convenience retail environment. ExtraMile Convenience Stores is a rapidly growing, results-driven business and must have an individual that is a self-starter who will thrive in this environment to helm this position.


This is a remote role with occasional travel to Pleasanton, CA. Must reside in California.


Some of what you'll do as the Merchandising Coordinator:

  • Coordinate, schedule, and support annual ExtraMile trade shows across multiple geographies and venues partnering with Category Management and supplier partners.
  • Implement best practice coordination, project management, and support logistics with annual category reset execution.
  • Manage and supervise 3rd party (Contract Vendors) support for projects such as annual resets and store openings.
  • Manage internal equipment ordering platform/process providing best in class support to Franchisees.
  • Work collaboratively with space planning and layout teams advocating for strategic, expedited, simplified field execution.
  • Support business initiatives by spending time in EMCS stores coordinating with key stakeholders as defined.
  • Fully own our merchandising executional strategies and tactics to enhance executional performance.
  • Be an innovative thinker highlighting opportunities with a detailed eye for process improvements.
  • Communicate effectively across all segments of the organization against execution and project coordination.
  • Support peer group with JDA Space and Floor Planning initiatives.
  • Provide high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.


You'll be a great fit for this position if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, and a minimum of four year’s experience in the food retailing or convenience store industry.
  • Experience working with Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies and small-format retail preferred.
  • A history of being detail oriented and organized.
  • Strong time-management and communication skills.
  • A thorough understanding of the retail customer and how they engage and shop small retail formats.
  • A history of being self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple tasks by specified deadlines.
  • The ability to work well in teams and independently.
  • Proficiency with MS Office & Outlook.
  • An ability to work a flexible schedule including travel and weekends when needed.
  • The ability to travel up to 20% of the time as required by company operations.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and hear. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position will typically be exposed to a standard office environment. While supporting marketing initiatives onsite, environmental conditions the incumbent will be exposed to include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor exposure from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
