Mental Health Counselor - Limited Permit

We are seeking mental health counselors to join our dynamic team in a supportive and collaborative private practice setting. This position is designed for early career therapists looking to gain invaluable experience in individual psychotherapy under the direction of a clinical supervisor. Our practice offers a blend of remote and in-person work, catering to adults with a variety of needs.

Requirements

  • Provide 22 - 26 weekly hours of individual psychotherapy therapy.
  • Diligently complete clinical documentation in a timely manner.
  • Engage in group and individual supervision to foster clinical growth and professional development
  • The role offers the opportunity for both remote and in-office work. One day will be designated for in-person work at the office. Other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited mental health counseling Master's program
  • Must hold a limited permit to practice mental health counseling in New York State or permit eligible.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience and training in evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, psychodynamic psychotherapy, or interpersonal therapy
  • A strong desire for professional growth within the field of mental health counseling
  • Enthusiasm for learning and adhering to the procedures of group private practice that values support, collaboration, respect, and integrity
  • Excellent clinical ability, organizational skills, self-motivation, and a proactive attitude
  • Strong understanding of and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

This includes the ability to notice and acknowledge instances when you may be unsure as to how to help a client and the ability to consistently seek and follow guidance from a clinical supervisor and clinical leadership.

  • Emotional Intelligence: A high level of awareness of one's own emotional states, and emotional reactions, and the ability to manage and adroitly express one's thoughts and feelings in an interpersonal judiciousness and empathetic manner.
  • Learning Ability: The ability to readily synthesize new information and to put it into practice to great effect.
  • Adaptability: The ability to remain fully professionally functional when adapting to changing circumstances (environment, procedures, and people).
  • Industriousness: The ability to reliably take direct action in order to achieve or exceed clinical or other objectives
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to identify problems, evaluate and synthesize information; trace potential causes of issues, and develop novel solutions
