Mental Health Clinician I - C-RRR

The Mental Health Clinician I provides a range of services as part of the treatment team. Mental Health Clinician I acts as a SFPR and may conduct individual, family, group psychotherapy, and individual rehabilitation sessions. ID#31300A

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

As a member of the treatment team, works closely with case managers and CRRR families to develop an individualized family plan taking into account each family’s strength, goals and needs.

Responsible for completing all paperwork required by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) i.e. assessments, coordination plans, etc, as well as CRRR required documentation in a timely manner.

Coordinates with case manager to implement the family plan agreed upon by family meetings..

Provides direct clinical, psychological and/or rehabilitative mental health services to CRRR families including identified client and other family members seen as collateral in the home.

Provides CRRR families with ongoing assessments of their basic needs in various life domains including: housing, family, social, recreational, emotional, educational, safety, legal, medical, cultural, behavioral, school, work, and financial.

Is flexible and creative in providing support and services to families in their home, at school sites, in agency offices and other off-site locations as outlined in the treatment plan.

Works closely with the case manager in order to coordinate and integrate services for families as needed.

Is respectful and sensitive to each family’s cultural and individual needs and customs as appropriate.

Participates in weekly staff meetings, treatment team meetings, clinical supervisions, family meetings, and individual and supervision sessions.

Actively participates in Arts Care activities which include scheduling, childcare, transportation of families and leading parenting groups as appropriate and needed.

Complete all documentation in a timely and comprehensive manner.

Assist with weekly utilization review committee/chart review committee tasks.

The ideal candidate Master degree from an approved graduate school or program leading to California licensure as LMFT/LCSW or equivalent, licensed therapist or registered intern with the appropriate California licensing board, experience working with children in a behavioral health setting, and valid California license.

Bilingual (Spanish)

Must pass Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and pre-employment physical.

Must have a valid California Driver License in good standing and be insurable by the Center’s auto insurance carrier.

Able to work effectively with a range of clients and staff from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Background in Family Systems and/or Family Strength.

Strong writing skills

Strong organizational skills

Must act in accordance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) of 1996 and related state law confidentiality requirements. Must successfully complete the Center’s HIPAA training, pass the HIPAA test, and receive the Certification of Compliance.

Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

Interacting with other employees at work in an essential function of the job.

Arriving at work on time and not leaving early is an essential function of the job.

Possess valid Class C California Driver’s License and driving record meets SFVMHC, Inc. insurance requirements.
