Background


Since 2006, the Tech Coalition has been uniting leading global tech firms to protect children from online sexual exploitation and abuse.  Relaunched in 2020, the TC is a rapidly growing coalition of over 35 tech companies, including Google, Meta, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and Sony, that have made a mutual commitment to support and collaborate for the purpose of eradicating online child sexual exploitation and abuse. We have combined forces to accelerate the technological innovations that will keep children safe, facilitate information and knowledge sharing amongst our members, advance meaningful dialogue between industry and the broader child protection community, drive industry transparency and accountability, and fund independent research.

The Role


The Membership Development Manager will be responsible for supporting the VP of Membership Development in implementing the business development strategies for the Tech Coalition. The candidate’s primary focus will be identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing prospect relationships, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the Organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of conducting effective research, innovative thinking, and prospecting to drive results and generate new business. 


Responsibilities:


Market Research and Strategic Execution:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential members, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Research individual contacts at prospective organizations to inform outreach messaging.
  • Analyze data and information to develop insights that will guide membership development strategies.
  • Support implementing a comprehensive membership growth strategy that aligns with the Tech Coalition’s goals. 


Messaging and Proposal Development:

  • Prepare and manage presentation decks for the VP of Membership Development.
  • Craft unique email sequences for customized outbound outreach.
  • Manage and create new case studies based on industry and region.
  • Craft collateral including one-sheeters for Membership Development purposes.
  • Ideate and manage webinar and live Membership Development content, as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Programs and Communications departments to ensure all messaging aligns with the Coalition’s capabilities and objectives.


Lead Generation:

  • Identify and qualify potential leads through various channels, including online research, LinkedIn, networking events, industry publications, and partner programming.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Programs teams to develop effective lead-generation strategies.
  • Serve as initial point of contact, as needed, for new client opportunities to aid VP of Membership Development.


Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Communications, Programs, and Operations, to align business development efforts with overall company goals.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute insights for strategic planning purposes.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Leverage CRM to keep track of all leads and progress. 
  • Track and analyze business development performance metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports for management and maintain clear communication channels to update TC staff on lead generation progress, key achievements, challenges, and opportunities. 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years experience in business development, sales, or related roles, with a strong track record of success
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations
  • Experience in developing and executing sales enablement strategies
  • Self-starter: Someone who thrives in a deadline-oriented environment and is highly organized
  • Entrepreneurial and intellectually curious
  • Passionate about learning
  • Adaptable


Preferred but Not Required:


  • Technical proficiency in relevant software and tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Copper (or other CRM), and project management tools like Asana or Confluence.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Asana or Confluence.
  • Previous experience in or knowledge of Trust and Safety.


Location: Remote (US-based) 

Travel: Occasional travel required 

Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 base salary; bonus based on performance; health insurance; 401k plan with match
