Role Overview

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will play a pivotal role in engaging and educating healthcare professionals and thought leaders about the clinical applications, utility, and impact of our in vitro diagnostic products through fair and balanced scientific exchange. You will provide valuable expertise and insights to internal teams, contributing to the advancement of product utilization to enhance patient care.

This position, housed within our Medical and Scientific Affairs Department, offers a remote work arrangement. At our core, we envision becoming the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a valuable resource to the medical and scientific community, including emergency and infectious disease clinicians, OBGYNs, laboratory personnel, infection control specialists, pharmacists, and researchers.

Proactively educate healthcare professionals and support commercial efforts by demonstrating the clinical value of our diagnostic products.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with thought leaders (Key Opinion Leaders) to gather advice, expert opinions, and establish innovative partnerships.

Stay abreast of relevant scientific literature, clinical practice guidelines, and emerging healthcare trends.

Participate in scientific meetings to engage Key Opinion Leaders, healthcare providers, and customers.

Identify research gaps, support sponsored clinical trials, investigator-initiated research, Advisory Boards, and Focus Groups to inform marketing strategies and product pipeline requirements.

Communicate insights from the medical and scientific community regarding unmet clinical or diagnostic needs, providing scientific expertise on product design, development, and implementation.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree (PhD or PharmD) with 4+ years of experience OR Master's/Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience OR Nurse Practitioner/Registered Nurse License with 10+ years of clinical experience.

Understanding of healthcare systems, clinical care pathways, hospital environments, and/or clinical laboratory workflows.

Ability to effectively engage healthcare personnel and thought leaders.

Strong scientific writing and excellent communication skills.

Demonstrated success in presenting medical/technical information concisely to diverse scientific and clinical audiences.

Experience in translating the value of laboratory innovation into clinical application.

Willingness to travel domestically 60 - 70%.

Preferred Experience

Knowledge of infectious disease diagnostics and its application to patient care.

Experience in an FDA-regulated environment, such as the in vitro diagnostic or biopharmaceutical industry.

Clinical practice background (PharmD, NP, RN).

3+ years of Medical Science Liaison experience.

Completion of a clinical residency program/fellowship for Ph.D. holders (e.g., 2-year CPEP fellowship through the American Society for Microbiology).

Leadership, management, or supervisory experience.

Ability to interpret and summarize scientific publications, technical procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $146,000 - $186,000. Please note that this range is provided in good faith and may be subject to modification in the future.
