POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is to contribute to the achievement of the company’s goals through field-based value adding medical activities (in the assigned territory) as well as internal activities. The roles serves as Averitas medical expert for current and future products and scientific data and disease state education in front of different stakeholders. This role requires extensive cross functional collaboration and the ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operational responsibilities
- Develops and fosters trusting relationship with regional local expert to discuss patient pathways and disease management
- Delivering Medical Information on request of external customers
- Serve as a contact point between medical affairs team and the field-based cross-functional teams and provide insights on medical/scientific issues
- Enhance Averitas’ principles of scientific expertise, innovative leadership, and patient centricity by providing scientific expertise and effective partnerships to field teams
- Role model and represent medical ethics towards other departments
- Research Support
- Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with Key External Experts and other stakeholders
- Facilitate follow-up of submitted Investigator Initiated Studies
- Medical education
- Deliver medical education and training around products and therapeutic areas on request
- Preparing and holding local advisory boards and trainings
- Deliver scientific competitive intelligence and customer insight (internal & external)
- Establish/maintain an overview on guidelines and other relevant publications
- Contribute to knowledge creation and management to support the company’s goals

QUALIFICATIONS, CAREER EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
A combination of relevant education and applicable job experience will be considered.
Qualifications
- PharmD, PHD or MD
Career Experience
- 2-4 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry as an MSL preferably in Specialty disease fields
- pain product experience and/or medical device, specialty pharmaceutical, or biologic product launch product launch preferred
- Experience with introducing new specialty pharmaceutical/biologics products or indications
- Experience of working in a start-up environment, with a strong sense of urgency and agility to adapt to the dynamic needs of the business with the ability to thrive in a fast paced dynamic environment
Industry trends and environment
- Demonstrable understanding of industry trends and market insights including the various unique needs of various healthcare stakeholders including KEEs (Key External Experts) and payers proven successful ability to interact with KEEs
Business acumen
- Strong interpersonal and presentation (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to interact with customers and senior management
- High ethical and professional standards with all business contacts and at all levels

REQUIREMENTS
- The ability to travel up to 60%, including overnights, as dictated by the needs of the business
- Expected to live and work in assigned territory for role
