Medical Records Clerk – ProgressiveHealth Rehabilitation, Inc. – Evansville, IN
We are looking for a Medical Records Clerk to join our ProgressiveHealth team! This person will be responsible for record management, data entry, file retrieval, quality assurance, and customer service. Our Medical Records Clerk will support the Compliance Department, and partner with corporate and remote managers, along with client partners and vendors, to support them through any compliance-related needs. This position requires confidentiality, prioritizing, and organization and reports to the Compliance Manager in Evansville, IN. This is a part-time, in-office opportunity.

What will you be doing in this role?
Processing, retrieving, and delivering medical record requests from attorneys, patients, third-party insurance, etc.
Organize and maintain both physical and electronic medical records in according with established procedures and HIPAA regulations
Accurately input patient information into systems, ensuring completeness and correctness
Conduct regular audits of medical records to identify and correct errors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards
Recognizing and adhering to privacy regulations, particularly those outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to facilitate the smooth flow of medical record requests and updates
Assist patients and authorized personnel with inquiries related to medical records, providing excellent service and maintaining professionalism
Assist with various research projects and/or special projects

Our ideal candidate will have:
A high school diploma or GED equivalent
Previous experience with medical records is preferred
Previous experience in the healthcare industry is ideal, preferably in physical and occupational therapy services
Exceptional organization skills, self-motivation, and demonstrated excellence in customer service and communication
Ability to adapt quickly to change, problem solve, and be solution-oriented
Strong sense of urgency with the ability to execute quickly and efficiently with keen attention to detail
Highly organized with strong follow-up skills and the ability to multi-task
A high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
The ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
Be able to maintain confidentiality
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
