Medical Records Associate

Job Type Full-time Description Founded in 1866, The Floating Hospital (TFH), is one of the last remaining charity hospitals in New York City. Our commitment is the same as it was more than 150 years ago: unrestricted healthcare to all who walk through our doors, regardless of immigration and insurance status, or the ability to pay. The Floating Hospital welcomes individuals of all ages, from infants, school age children (5+), youth and adults. TFH is a Federally Qualified Health Center and the largest provider to homeless families living in family shelters and domestic violence safe houses throughout all five boroughs. Main Responsibilities:

• Control all functions dealing with health information.
• Scans reports and medical records into medical record imaging system.
• Protects health information and assist with legal affairs, subpoenas, court orders, patients, attorneys, insurance companies, disability, and continuing patient care.
• Ensures that medical record requests are completed in compliance with HIPAA Federal Law.
• Ensure the privacy, safety, and security of records, including release of information only to authorized individuals. Requirements Must have a High School Diploma. Two to five years of experience in the Medical Records field. Knowledgeable with Microsoft Suite, ATHENA and eClinicalWorks. Bilingual Spanish speaking is required.
