Overview: Virtus Healthcare Staffing is engaged in a search for a highly skilled Microbiology Medical Lab Scientist on behalf of our partner, an acute care medical center in Las Cruces, NM. This position requires a dedicated professional who is ready to contribute to a dynamic healthcare team. Please note that this client does not support Visa sponsorships.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological testing and analysis in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning and calibration.
• Collect, process, and interpret patient specimens.
• Document and report test results accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.
• Adhere to safety, compliance, and infection control protocols.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (ASCP or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an acute care facility preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
